Don’t like voice messages? Are you going to hate video messages? In its latest beta version, the WhatsApp application includes a new way to communicate with your friends and family: a short video, indicates the specialized site WABetaInfo.
With this option, currently in testing, each user can film themselves for up to 60 seconds to deliver a message. The operating principle is the same as for voice messages: just hold down a button to start recording and lift your finger to stop it.
more authenticity
This key is in the same place as the microphone that is already used to send voice messages. To switch from audio to video, just click on this icon instead of pressing it.
For WhatsApp, it’s all about giving a sense of immediacy over pre-recorded videos. According to the app, when a recipient receives a video taken on the spot, they perceive more authenticity.
The company ensures that these video messages will remain end-to-end encrypted. In addition, it is possible to send them using the “View once” option, which allows a message to be read or viewed only once by its recipient.
