Connected television offers many possibilities, including enjoying television channels without a box. A practice that is spreading more and more, but that requires certain conditions to be met.
If you have a recent Samsung TV, chances are you can do without a box to watch your favorite channels. In fact, by negotiating with SFR (a subsidiary of Altice France, like BFMTV), Samsung has just concluded its fourth partnership with a French Internet service provider to offer dematerialized television.
Through your carrier
Samsung televisions launched on the market since 2019 thus offer dematerialized television, thanks to simple applications to download. If you subscribe to SFR, Orange, Free or Bouygues Telecom, simply download your operator’s TV app from the Samsung app store.
The internet connection, by Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable, will identify your subscription to allow you to use the service. For now, Samsung is the only manufacturer that offers this option for all four operators.
Without going through an operator
Despite everything, there are other solutions to do without the TV decoder. Going through the Google Chromecast, the Apple TV box or the Amazon Fire TV Stick, for example. These devices, together with a smartphone or tablet, allow you to display your content on your TV, but also have many additional applications.
Among them we find Molotov or MyCanal, which can also be installed natively on many TV models. They provide access to live television content (or not), with prior subscription. Molotov offers a free offer, however, with 36 channels available. To access larger bouquets, you will have to pay 5.99 euros per month.
