A week after the death of Nahel, assassinated by a policeman in Nanterre, looting of shops took place throughout France for several days. Marseille does not escape these scenarios, according to reports Provence.
The local newspaper indicates that the stolen items are on resale sites between individuals. Thus, shortly after a Nike store was attacked, pairs of sneakers flooded platforms such as Vinted or Leboncoin. “New with tag”, “never used” or “original packaging” are part of the sales pitch.
At the disposal of the authorities
Contacted by Tech&Co, Leboncoin claims to be very attentive in these periods. The platform “doesn’t compromise on the quality of its ad control,” he explains.
The company recalls that it is available to the authorities and that it can respond “freely and quickly” to a requisition request.
Provence He noted that new accounts have sprung up on Leboncoin and Vinted. For the former, vendors display many pairs of shoes. For the second, the mechanics are reversed. New sellers often only have one item to sell. Contrasting with the usual practices of the platform, where users usually offer various items for sale.
Also contacted by Tech&Co, Vinted has yet to respond to our request.
