The concept has the merit of originality. The South Korean manufacturer LG has in its catalog the StanbyME Go, an atypical television to say the least.
The device comes in the form of a large 27-inch Full HD LCD touchscreen built into a sound carrying case.
A device designed to be nomadic
Attached to a stand, the StanbyME Go screen can be oriented vertically or horizontally. The slab is also height adjustable and can be used flat to act as a table for playing games optimized for this format or simply to serve as an interface.
LG introduces this device as a portable entertainment solution. For this, the suitcase, which carries four certified 20-watt speakers dolby atmos, has a battery that lasts three hours on a single charge. But it is possible to connect the TV electrically.
If the device does not shine for its autonomy, it is based above all on its nomadic aspect, for anyone who wants to afford the possibility of watching streaming content anywhere. To do this, it relies in particular on partnerships with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and even Apple TV, which are integrated.
an expensive price
Compatible with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, StandbyME GO runs on webOS and is compatible with AirPlay2, a protocol that allows content to be displayed from Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.). It is also possible to project the screen of your Android smartphone and control everything using voice control.
At the moment the device, available for pre-order, is only for the US market and will arrive at the end of August. According the edgeLG plans to sell it exclusively on its website for $999.99.
The South Korean manufacturer is not in its first attempt in terms of original televisions. The manufacturer had already distinguished itself at CES 2023 by presenting the Signature M3, a device whose particularity is not to reveal any cables. LG also caused a sensation last year with the Oled Flex, a foldable television.
