Amazon Music for its part increases the price of its subscriptions

Amazon’s streaming music platform has decided to increase the price of each of its offers by a few euros. A way to align with the competition, which has chained price changes in recent weeks.

It was one of the last services not to have entered the waltz of price increases, but that era is over. Amazon Music has increased the price of its different offers, with the aim, according to the platform, of “bringing more content and functions”

From now on, subscriptions to Amazon Music Unlimited, which allows unlimited access to 100 million titles, listening in HD and spatial audio, will be shown at the price of 10.99 euros per month, compared to the previous 9.99 euros. .

Increments from 1 to 3 euros

This increase of a symbolic euro is also imposed on the rest of the range, such as Amazon Music included with Prime, which, however, has a reduction compared to the classic offer but continues to go from 8.99 to 9.99 euros. The Unlimited Family subscription is experiencing a greater price increase, going from 14.99 to 17.99 euros.

However, only one offer is saved from these price increases: the Echo / Fire TV subscription, which is used to listen to your favorite music only on an Echo or Fire TV device, therefore a connected speaker or television. The offer therefore remains at 4.99 euros per month.

Therefore, starting August 15, new subscribers will see these price increases applied. People already subscribed will see their monthly or annual subscription increased only from September 19 and on the plan renewal date.

Let go

Still, Amazon Music is catching up with the rest of the market, with companies taking turns announcing price increases. Apple had launched the movement last October by increasing the price of Apple Music subscriptions by one euro. It was followed by Spotify last July, which raised its prices for the first time in France, and more recently by YouTube Music.

French streaming service Deezer is still pending a possible future tax on streaming proposed by the government. The deputy director of the platform Stéphane Rougeot had indicated in particular that, in the event of implementation, Deezer “would have no choice” to increase the price of its subscriptions.
