Single player completes Baldur’s Gate 3 in just 9 minutes

While the game is breaking support numbers on Steam, another record has been broken, that of speed to complete the main story.

During his games, the streamer will not have had time to admire the scenery of the game Mae, from his nickname, ended Baldur’s Gate 3 in just nine minutes. She recorded her feat in a first video posted on YouTube on August 14, which has already accumulated more than 400,000 views and was captured by specialized media. IGN, where he manages to complete the game in 10 minutes. Before breaking his own record in a second video: 8 minutes and 58 seconds.

Released on the Steam gaming platform on August 3, the game is developed by Laran Studio. Inside Baldur’s Gate 3which is a role-playing game, the player finds himself in a fictional medieval and fantasy universe of the Forgotten Realms, and has his character evolve in a highly elaborate setting.

The game, which takes place in three acts, was designed to last around 35 hours if the player follows the main story, and over 96 hours if the player follows the full story. Therefore, “speedster” Mae wanted to circumvent the rules. And for that, she chose the character named Gale, known mostly for his very high and powerful jumps.

finish as soon as possible

During her fast-paced adventure, Mae detected a glitch of sorts in the game, a false ending that can be triggered at the end of Act 2, only possible when the player assumes the role of Gale. So Mae ran throughout the beginning of the game, running and jumping as fast as she could as she dodged enemies and cutscenes. She then made it to the end of the second act and only had to make a decision during a conversation that led directly to one of the game’s endings.

This speedrun is part of the “Any%” category, which is just getting to the end of the game without worrying about main or side quests. A record that has something to attract other competitors since Baldur’s Gate 3 achieved the second best start when it launched on Steam in early August.

Last May, a player finished The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in less than an hour.
