It is at the end of September when Apple usually puts its new iPhone models on sale, a few days after its presentation at its usual back-to-school conference. This year, the latter should be organized on September 12. The iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (which could arrive a month late) are especially expected.
For those who want a next-generation model, buying an iPhone 14 less than a month before the arrival of version 15 is not the best option. Among the novelties, the iPhone 15 should finally benefit from a new connectivity: the USB-C charger, compatible with Android smartphones, will replace the proprietary Lightning port, which has been used for more than a decade.
Other novelties should be in the program, with charging cables that match the color of the mobile and a new “Action” button on the edge of the device, to activate a shortcut of your choice. Therefore, it would replace the “Mute” button, which allows you to silence the ringtone.
Better business than in 2022?
But waiting for the launch of the iPhone 15 will probably be much more interesting… if you don’t want an iPhone 15. For example, if you prefer to resort to the iPhone 14 -or earlier- to save a few hundred euros. . A strategy that is all the more relevant as smartphone manufacturers offer innovations that are often interesting, but less and less essential.
Every year, the arrival of new iPhone models implies a price drop compared to previous versions. At least until 2022. Last year, Apple kept the price of its iPhone 13 (launched in 2021) to the cent, offered at 909 euros. In question, the option to launch an iPhone 14 at a higher price (1019 euros).
While the Apple Store remained intractable with its prices, many resellers (specialty brands like carriers) dropped the price of the iPhone 13 as soon as the iPhone 14 arrived.
This year, it’s hard to imagine Apple inflating the rating significantly again. With an iPhone 15 sold in 1019, Apple would be forced to lower the price of the iPhone 14 below 1000 euros and make the iPhone 13 cheaper.
Therefore, in 2023, the price reductions seen at Apple, and amplified at other resellers, are likely to be particularly exciting, with a larger ripple effect than in 2022.
