Dyson popularized stick vacuums. Easy to handle, compact, with high suction power, these devices are experiencing increasing popularity.
However, the prices of the products manufactured by the British brand make some consumers look for cheaper alternatives. In fact, models from the rows of other manufacturers also constitute qualitative and sometimes less expensive solutions. Here are five references that rival Dyson.
1. Hoover H-FREE 100 HF122PTA
The Hoover H-Free 122PTA has several advantages to claim. First its modern design pleasing to the eye. Then its ergonomics: although it is not the lightest in its category (2.6 kilograms), it is practical and easy to handle and is ideal for effortlessly cleaning hard floors, carpets, furniture and ceilings. With a power of 22 Volts, this broom vacuum cleaner also has a fairly high speed.
Indeed, in standard mode, its suction is quite correct and allows you to clean not only dust and crumbs but also hair or animal hair. Its suction head equipped with several LEDs allows, in particular, to locate the dust in the gaps and it is equipped with a removable dust container with a good capacity (0.9 l).
Given its autonomy in normal use, which is less than 40 minutes, the use of the Hoover H-Free 122PTA is rather recommended for small surfaces of less than 60 m². However, it has a removable battery that can be recharged anywhere. While it’s not quite as powerful as the best Dysons, it’s still a great alternative given its price and performance.
With its original design, this broom vacuum cleaner, which can also be used as a handheld vacuum cleaner, does not go unnoticed. Functional, with its articulated handle that saves storage space, this Hoover model has good suction power on all types of floors (thin carpet, hard floor…).
Not only is its level of dust filtration very good, but the range of accessories supplied with your purchase is complete. In addition, its transparent dust container has a capacity of 0.7 L and is easily emptied thanks to a hatch that prevents it from coming into contact with dust.
Its autonomy, estimated between 20 and 40 minutes, is sufficient for most uses. Certainly a more accurate battery level indicator than a trio of diodes would have been more satisfying. Similarly, a slightly lighter suction head would have been nice. But, beyond these reservations, the IZ201EUT constitutes a very good price-performance ratio.
3. Tineco Pure One S12
The Pure One S12 excels on all types of floors (high-pile carpet, hard floor, thin carpet…). It is distinguished by very good suction performance and a multi-cyclone filtration system that is difficult to fail. Added to this is the presence of a dirt detection system that automatically modifies the suction power according to the nature of the materials found. A very valuable feature.
The 0.6 L dust compartment and its emptying system are very ergonomic. In addition, the maintenance of the filters is facilitated by the multicyclone technology integrated in the vacuum cleaner, which allows the presence of fine particles inside to be reduced. It is possible to install the Tineco app on a smartphone and connect it to the vacuum cleaner via WI-FI. Result: the user can access various information, such as battery level or suction status, directly on the phone.
For the rest, its autonomy of 50 minutes in normal mode places it at the top of the basket of vertical vacuum cleaners. It takes 15 minutes at full power, which is however average for devices in its category. The Pure One S12 needs 3 hours to fully charge its removable battery. However, it is possible to purchase a second to extend the autonomy if necessary.
4. Rowenta X-Force Flex 15.60
Versatile, equipped with numerous accessories (heads, additional foam filter, flat brush…), the Rowenta X-Force Flex 15.60 adapts to every situation. Although it is quite heavy, the vacuum cleaner is easy to handle. A user experience facilitated by its articulated suction tube capable of folding in half to reach hard-to-reach places.
This suction head, which benefits from a power that can reach up to 230 Airwatts, is capable of analyzing the surface it passes over and modulating its suction power based on it. A practical feature that avoids having to bend down to vacuum under furniture in particular. This option completes a ramp of LEDs in the suction head that facilitates the identification of dust in dark places.
Its autonomy is very correct since the device can reach up to 80 minutes of autonomy with the minimum amount of energy (five available). Another strong point: its 0.9 L removable dust container that allows you to suck up a large amount of debris.
5. Samsung Bespoke Jet Pro Extra
With its range of Bespoke Jet broom vacuum cleaners, Samsung rubs shoulders with the highest-end references on the market. Original design, excellent suction on all surfaces, perfect multi-cyclonic filtration, extremely simple maintenance: the model of the South Korean brand meets almost all the requirements of the reference broom vacuum cleaner.
One of its main arguments: the Clean Station, a support that vacuums and stores dust in a bag. Once the vacuum cleaner is placed on this platform, it automatically empties the tank without fine particles escaping.
In addition, its 1.44 kilograms allow any user to carry it everywhere. The device shows 40 minutes of autonomy at minimum power. Using turbo mode, about 8 minutes. However, its autonomy can be doubled thanks to the presence of a second battery.
