The United Kingdom gives the provisional green light to the acquisition of Microsoft and Activision

The takeover of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft should be able to conclude. The British regulator has just given the provisional green light to validate the record purchase of almost 70 billion dollars.

The British competition authority, the CMA, announced on Friday that it was giving the provisional green light to the new acquisition agreement by the American software giant Microsoft of Activision Blizzard, publisher of the video game “Call of Duty.”

The CMA reports in a press release “limited residual concerns” about this merger, for which Microsoft “has proposed solutions”, with the competition watchdog “provisionally concluding that these additional protections should resolve remaining concerns”.
