According to a spokesperson for the court, this decision is not subject to appeal and, therefore, makes the closure of the investigation final.
The United States requested his extradition
John McAfee was found dead on June 23, 2021 in his cell at Brians 2 prison, located near Barcelona, at the age of 75. Shortly before his death, a Spanish court gave the green light to his extradition to the United States, requested by Washington.
A spokesman for the prison authorities then presented to AFP the theory of suicide, confirmed by an initial autopsy. But his wife appealed and obtained a new autopsy.
