Hours before the new Silent Hill release announcements, leaks have been making the rounds on the internet giving eager fans some clues. Ten years after the last release, the horror movie and game franchise returns with great fanfare with various announcements. On the program, the Silent Hill 2 game remake, two new games to come, a new movie, an interactive series, and even spin-offs.
The biggest announcement is undoubtedly the remake of the game Silent Hill 2, released in 2001 and developed by Bloomber Team. No release date has been specified yet, but the game will be available exclusively on PS5 and PC for the first 12 months, then on Xbox. A movie faithful to the universe of the Silent Hill franchise has also been announced. To do this, Konami has teamed up once again with Christophe Gans, who directed the first film released in 2006.
Two other new games.
Two other big announcements also caught the attention of fans. Silent Hill Ascension is billed as a “serial interactive streaming experience”, similar to a show where fans decide how the action unfolds, with no way to go back.
A second game, Silent Hill F, has been announced. The action takes place in Japan and the universe appears to be particularly gory. And finally, Silent Hill Townfall, another game, but whose content remains a complete mystery. For these two titles, the platforms have yet to be determined.
To top off the new announcements, many spin-offs will appear, including a series of statues of the bearer of the triangular helmet. A batch of news that has something to satisfy fans who have been waiting too long.
