Ryann Dubois has invented a simple but life-changing tool for thousands of young people. Dyslexic and dyspraxic, this 17-year-old from Côtes-d’Armor imagined a keyboard with colored stickers to help people suffering from “Dys” disorders (dyslexia, dysorthography, dyspraxia).
Recognized as handicaps in 2005, these pathologies particularly attack the school learning of young students. For them, writing is a pain.
Thousands of kits sold
Hence the idea of a keyboard with stickers to help when taking notes. “Stickers make life easier because there are colored areas to place your fingers. It follows the method of occupational therapists: a finger has its colored area”, explains Ryann.
Therefore, this sticker system allows you to identify letters, characters and shortcuts more quickly. Sold for 24 euros, the kits find their audience.
According to the parisian7,000 kits were manufactured and 4,500 were sold to National Education, occupational therapists, speech therapists and hospitals.
The initiative was even welcomed by Emmanuel Macron on Instagram. “Not only have you shown a lot of courage throughout your school career, but you have turned it into a strength with this invention that will relieve other people facing the same difficulties. Congratulations, sincerely. I wish you the success you deserve for the rest of your studies!” wrote the President of the Republic in a comment to a publication by the young man.
