On the cybersecurity side, the month of September ends as it began. After a widespread data leak from a service provider of several national brands (Bolanger, Culture, etc.), it is the rate comparator MeilleurTaux that announces that it has been the victim of a cyberattack.
Many customers have received an email from the company mentioning “an external attack” on a franchisee’s computer systems. Questioned by Tech&Co, MeilleurTaux confirms the data leak but does not specify the number of customers affected.
Scam risks
Specifically, these are identity, postal and telephone contact details, professional situation, income, family situation, date of birth, nationality and country of birth.
MeilleurTaux reminds its clients that the risks of fraud are high and that they should never reveal their banking identity to an advisor who presents themselves as belonging to the company.
