Although cold calling monitoring is gradually being intensified, it is normal to be suspicious when a long number tries to contact you. However, it may be the emergency services.
A unique number to add to your repertoire
In a message in part 112, which is the global and European emergency number when you want to contact them from your smartphone or landline.
This concerns both the firefighters and the SAMU and the Gendarmerie: “If you receive a call from this number, answer without fear,” the firefighters explain on social networks.
If you do not answer despite everything, the service concerned will leave you a message with the necessary instructions to facilitate the return of the call. However, the usual emergency numbers remain unchanged, including 17, 18 and therefore 112. Their principle does not change either: you will be in contact with an operator who will redirect your call to the services affected by your request or your emergency .
Important note: 0 800 112 112 is completely free and has no surcharge.
To avoid surprises, we recommend that you add this number to your smartphone directory under the name “Emergency Services”, so you know you can respond with complete confidence.
If you want to contact emergencies, we recommend using 112, which allows you to contact emergency services, regardless of the European country you are in.
