For several hours (the outage began around 02:30 French time), Playstation’s online services encountered numerous difficulties. On the specialized site Downdetector we can see a spike in reports linked to connection problems, and they were still ongoing this morning of October 1. Around 3:00 p.m., Sony finally announced the restoration of all services.
On its support site, which allows you to see the status of services in real time, Sony clearly reports “difficulties” regarding the online service for Playstation Vita, 3, 4 and 5, Playstation Network.
It involves account management, the online parts, the VOD part and the online store. On the other hand, the Playstation Direct platform – which allows you to purchase accessories and consoles – remains accessible.
Sony did not elaborate on this issue: “We are doing our best to resolve these issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
Please note that although Sony does not indicate it, some users on social networks report a return to normal on Playstation 5 by restarting the console.
