An announcement that probably delights artists. During a TED conference on April 11, Sam Altman, the head of Openai, spoke for the first time a possible remuneration for artists whose style is used to generate a job with Chatgpt, as reported by the American Fortune magazine.
In other words, a living artist whose name is mentioned in a request to generate a work, as an image, would be paid. Sam Altman has not given additional information on this subject.
Around 800 million users
OpenAi’s chief addressed this idea, while many artists complain about the use of their works to train AI tools from the launch of Chatgpt. This, without your consent or compensation. After having admitted to having formed his chatbot with content protected by copyright, Operai faces several complaints, especially writers such as George RR Martin (game of Thrones).
And, this copyright problem returned to the table with the image generator of the new company, which allowed him to win many users.
Many users used the image generator to transform photos into Ghibli -style drawings. All they need to do is ask the AI model to recreate a cliché in the study style to obtain a surprising result. The style of a job is not explicitly protected by copyright, it is very likely that Optaai has obtained these results when drawing his model in millions of images of Gibli’s films.
Sam Altman, however, emphasized that it was not possible to create an image in the style of an artist who lived with the generator “for the moment.” It remains to be seen if this model of what this remuneration model for artists will be.
