New iPhones, Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 2: what to remember from the Apple conference

Among them, the 2022 vintage of the iPhone, the connected watch Apple Watch Series 8 and its Pro version, as well as the latest wireless headphones AirPods Pro 2. Overview.

• Apple Watch Series 8

It was the novelty that inaugurated this Keynote 2022. Resistant to water, dust and drops, the Apple Watch Series 8 is designed to be durable. The toquera has the same advantages as its previous version with some additions.

• Apple Watch SE 2

Apple also introduced the Apple Watch SE 2. More powerful, the design of this watch has been revamped to offer a 30% larger screen. According to Apple, it is especially intended for families thanks to Family Setup, the function that allows you to configure your children’s connected watch from the parents’ smartphone.

The Apple Watch SE 2 also gains in functionality. We find, for example, the same accident detection as in the Apple Watch Series 8. The watch will be available on September 16 at a price of $249 for Wi-Fi and $299 for 4G.

• Apple Watch Ultra

Aimed at an audience of regular or even extreme athletes (trailers, triathletes, trekking enthusiasts, divers, etc.), the Apple Watch Ultra is the surprise of the range of Apple brand connected watches. Its titanium case and flat screen protected by ultra-resistant glass guarantee resistance to the most difficult conditions.

The digital crown, a kind of home button that allows access to the list of applications, is larger for easier handling and a night mode for the screen is now available. Apple has also integrated more powerful speakers. The Ultra also has the largest battery in the lineup: up to 36 hours of battery life on a single charge.

This new iteration inaugurates a new alert system that allows a person lost in nature to be accurately located. The watch is also intended for nautical activities. It can descend up to 130 feet, it automatically identifies if its user is underwater and consequently displays a specific screen showing the depth. Ideal for divers and freedivers who can use Oceanic+, an application dedicated to these activities. The touch will be released on September 23 at a price of 999 euros.

• AirPods Pro 2

The audio was not left out during this Keynote with the announcement of the new AirPods Pro 2. If the aesthetic revision of the wireless headphones is light, the object is equipped with new features.

Its great novelty is the H2 chip that improves active noise reduction. AirPods Pro 2 can also reduce loud noises, like construction noise. In addition, spatial audio is still in play and, thanks to iOS 16, it is possible to create a unique profile according to each ear.

For autonomy, Apple announces 6 hours and up to 30 hours thanks to the case, which is six hours more than the previous generation. On the practical side, a speaker has been integrated into the case to be able to locate it. AirPods Pro 2 are priced at $249 and will go on sale on September 23.

• iPhone 14 and 14 Plus

The star of the night. After months of speculation about its features and price, the Cuppertino company has presented the latest generation iPhone. First the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. Its design is similar to that of the iPhone 13. The first is offered with a 6.1-inch screen, the second with 6.7 inches. Both models integrate the A 15 Bionic chip, just as efficient in 2022.

On the photography side, a new 12-megapixel sensor with stabilization arrives on the iPhone 14, and the front camera adopts autofocus, a first. The lens is also more efficient in low light. Additionally, both products feature a new video stabilization mode. This feature offers the possibility of evolving in motion, running for example, without the images shaking.

Both models have, like the Apple Watch Series 8, accident detection functionality as well as connection to a satellite for emergency situations. Available on September 16 in five colors, the iPhone 14 will be sold at 1,019 euros. The iPhone 14 Plus, on sale October 9, starts at $899.

• iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max

These two frames give prominence to the photo by acquiring a 48-megapixel sensor for the main camera. Its screen, 6.1 and 6.7 inches respectively and provided with a notch reduced by a third, is twice as bright as before according to the Apple brand. Always-On-Display, a technology borrowed from Android, is also emerging.

Otherwise, both Apple cars use the power of the new internal chip, the A 16 Bionic. Like the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, this range benefits from the option of detecting traffic accidents. For the price, it will be 1,329 euros for the Pro version and 1,479 euros for the Pro Max model, both on sale from September 16.
