A special experience in an Apple store. Imagine to enter one of the American giant stores to make a purchase, but do not find employees and all extinguished devices. This is what happened in an Apple store instead Leidseplein, in Amsterdam, on April 20, as reported by Algemeen Dagblad Media, transmitted by the Apple Insider site.
On the occasion of Easter Sunday, this Apple store had to be closed. However, the store door was open, which allowed about twenty people to enter. Among them, Arvin Mulder, who had come with a friend to buy a Apple Watch. Being the first to be in the store, they immediately noticed that he had not used and that the screens of all the devices were extinct.
Other people entered Apple’s store later. “At one time, there were 15 to 20 people inside. We are both entrepreneurs and we have our own stores, and we ask ourselves: what would we do in such a situation?” He said in a video posted on Tiktok, who shows his experience.
No stolen device
Arvin Mulder and his friend decided to call the police and get people out of the store. Waiting for the arrival of the police, they stayed in the Apple Store to avoid the theft of products. Once there, the police confirmed that no device had been stolen.
As Arvin Mulder said, the store remained open because a security guard had forgotten to close the door. At the time of the events, I was drinking coffee.
Note that this incident took place in the same Apple Store where a hostage occurred in February 2022. Netflix also released a film, IHOSTAGEInspired by this event on April 18. Internet users asked Arvin Mulder if he was on the scene of filming in the comments of his video. But, he assured them that the incident in which he recounts had nothing to do with the Netflix movie.
