Spain wants to prohibit the undersceted telephone collaboration

Through an integrated measure in a law dedicated to consumers, the Spanish Government wants to force operators to block unplayed commercial calls.

The Spanish Government announced on Tuesday that they want to prohibit the unfalled consumer organizers, which forces telecommunications operators to block all calls issued by companies that do not have a specific digital code.

“We will do it by asking for commercial calls to identify with a specific code, a dedicated prefix (…) and ensuring that telephone operators block any commercial call for a company that does not use this code,” he added.

Discourage the economic model of the telephone abbreviation

According to Bastinduy, a figure in the extreme party of the left, an ally of the Socialists in the government of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, this measure will be integrated through an amendment on a law dedicated to consumers that must soon be debated in Parliament.

This law will also integrate a measure announced in the summer of 2024 aimed at prohibiting the subscription of contracts by telephone, as well as a provision that forces companies to renew every two years the consent granted by consumers who agree to receive this type of calls.

According to a study in 39 countries and published in November 2023 by the American Hya Security Company, Spain is with France one of the countries where the number of calls premature is the highest, with a 44%”spam” rate.

In France, a parliamentary initiative has also been launched to ban telephone collaboration companies to communicate with citizens without their prior agreement. According to the UFC-Que Choisir consumer association, this text must enter into force in 2026.
