“They are there, they arrive!”, We can listen if we walk through Discoveryland inside the Paris Park in Disneyland. We take a look at what is happening, and the gaze is quickly challenged by two small droids that walk through the visitors of the famous amusement park located in Marne-La-Vallée.
Several times a day, and until May 24, the duo (or even the trio, if you are lucky) comes to make a small show in a scene present next to the attraction of Star Tours. They dance, they have character and do not hesitate to express themselves when necessary.
Droids that work in the crowd
The effect is immediate for the crowd that gradually meets it. If they are well protected by several members of the cast, they manage to track their trip during a trip of a few minutes to the scene. The magic works as soon as they touch the ground, they are transported in a box to the meeting place and cannot (yet) upload steps, and young and old can take them in a very close photo.
Those who encourage them, and who are far in the background with a small case, allow BD-X droids to react to the words of those who are responsible for animation, but also the actions of visitors. In the case of Tech & Co, which was present for one of these representations, one of them stopped in front of us and began to laugh.
For one of the spectators present, Cécile is a success: “It was too good! They really interact with us. This is what makes a fun park evolve, to add new technologies.”

These new technologies are precisely the heart of the experience carried out beyond May 24 for those who wish to see the BD-XS, but this time in a more limited place, a terrace in the Starport area, of May 29, 2025.
Above all, to design them, these little robots that have already been seen in the group’s Florida and California parks were able to count on Nvidia to come alive.
Presented in March 2024, BD-XS benefits from a chip offered by Nvidia to move more naturally. This was designed to make a series of predefined movements. They are controlled at a distance, but discreet enough for children to only see fire. This is the case of Matteo, 7, who believes it hard as iron: “They are the real ones!”, Exclaims in a crowd fun by the mood crises and the general humor of the small orchestrated show away from the great arteries of the park.
The massive arrival of small robots from the Star Wars universe is not immediately, but this is a new level in massive investments made by Walt Disney Company in its parks.
