Doctolib accelerates the deployment of artificial intelligence. This Tuesday, May 20, the company announced three new features based on AI. The first is the automatic generation of letters, which is integrated into the consultation assistant. Released in October, the latter has already been beneficial for more than three million consultations, according to Doctolib.
Able to analyze conversations on the doctor, this assistant can take real -time notes to generate a synthesis of the consultation. From this synthesis, caregivers can now “generate the document they need at the right time” thanks to automatic mail generation, says Doctolib.
Once this has been generated, the practitioner will only have to validate it. With a click, a general practitioner can obtain, for example, to obtain “a clear and contextualized address letter to a specialist”, which will include the relevant history of the patient and the reason for the consultation.
A telephone assistant at the end of 2025
The second novelty is the medical dictation. It was designed to help caregivers gain efficiency, transcribing the content they dictate. Whether for clinical notes, postoperative reports or the results of laboratory exams, the function uses voice recognition to write “more complete content”, says Doctolib, after having tried the function in real conditions for several months.
The automatic generation of medical email is now available, but the last function presented by Doctolib will not be launched until the end of the year. He is a telephone assistant. Already used in Germany, it allows caregivers to free themselves from the phone.
Specifically, when a patient calls a doctor, he is not disturbed because an assistant responds to his place. When talking naturally with him, a patient can make an appointment and make administrative requests.
As shown in a video posted on the Doctolib site, the telephone assistant can transmit, for example, transmit the intercom code to a patient in front of the cabinet door in which he has an appointment. Acceptable 24/7, will also allow patients to leave a voice message, which will be transcribed and summarized for the caregiver.
For Doctolib, this function will facilitate access to attention. Not only will it be possible to make an appointment even when the company is closed, people who do not feel comfortable with digital, especially older people, can use it as an alternative.
