Since 12 years, more than half of the minor children go on average every month to pornographic sites and are almost two thirds to consult them between 16 and 17 years, according to a study of the regulatory authority of audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom).
About 30% of children (2.3 million) were “at least once a month” to a pornographic site in 2022, according to a study by the May 2023 arc in relation to the year 2022.
This proportion is barely lower than adults (36%). Every day, these sites are frequented by 10% of Internet users, whatever their age, according to this study based on mediametrie internet audience.
Any age confused, men are 2.5 more numerous than women to go to the pierovin sites every month (53% against 20%).
12% of the audience conducted by minors
Since 12 years, more than half of the children go to pornographic sites on average each month: this is the case of 21% of children from 10 to 11 years, 51% of children aged 12 to 13, 59% of the 14-15 years and 65% of the 16-17 years.
The assistance of these sites by adolescents is much lower: 31% of children aged 12 to 13, 27% of the 14-15 years, 31% of 16-17% and 20% of adults.
The number of minors visiting adult sites every month has increased by 36% in five years, between 2017 and 2022, according to Arcom.
On average, 12% of the adult sites audience is made by minors.
Daily, almost one in ten children goes to adult sites, according to the ARCOM.
France, the fourth most consumer country
According to the senatorial report “Porn: The Hell of the Decor”, published in September 2022, pornographic videos on transmission platforms (Pornhub, Youporn, XVIDEOS …) constituted in 2019 more than a quarter (27%) of all online videos in the world.
In France, five pornographic sites are among the fifty frequency sites, including four sites in the Top 25, according to this senatorial report.
France is the fourth country that consumes porn in the world.
Aylo, the parent company of the Pornographic Sites of Youporn, Pornhub and Redtube, announced that it will suspend access to the content of these platforms in France on Wednesday. Therefore, it intends to protest against the obligation to verify the age of the users that the French government seeks to put into force.
In France, the law has forced the editors of pornographic sites since July 2020, to ensure that Internet users are very important, without simply clicking on a simple statement, but this obligation does not apply.
