In Vinned, a small green lace chaki reached Charline’s eye, a user in X (former Twitter). Unless thirty euros, this old tank shirt, in perfect condition, has everything to please.
But the young woman has a doubt. Quickly, she decides to make a search for inverted images, just to be sure. And that’s where everything collapses. She discovers that it is not an old sleeveless shirt, as indicated in the announcement, but a shirt directly from Aliexpress. It is too much for Charline, who decides to share his frustration in X. and for a good reason.
Du Shein sold 3 times more expensive in Vinted
As proof, during the interview, the young woman went to make a quick tour of the second -hand application. The verdict is final. “I just opened the application and found an advertisement from another person with exactly the same product and the same photo,” said Charline.
The technique is always the same. Some unscrupulous vendors buy clothes in fast fashion sites, such as Shein or other Chinese platforms. Then they take some photos, put the item for sale to an “exorbitant price” and voila. “These products bought in Aliexpress, Shein, Temu, etc., are sold at a double price, sometimes triple,” observes the young woman.
Tech & Co went to verify the application. A corset, sold on Amazon to less than 8 euros, offers 35 euros in Vinned. Another sleeveless shirt, which is shown at 7.5 euros in Aliexpress, sells 20 euros more expensive on the second -hand platform. The same observation for a brown SHEIN jacket at 25 euros … which increases by 20 euros.
In social networks, Tiktok in mind, several influential explain this famous technique, guaranteed “proven and approved”. Therefore, one of them advises “three Aliexpress products to resell in Vind”, such as a retro console, bought 15 euros and “they are easily sold to 45 euros.”
Up to $ 2,000 per month
Another offers a “good plan for all those who want to earn some money during the ski holiday period” buying ski vessels at 3 euros to “put them online at 15 euros in Vinned”.
“I made 2,000 euros with this technique this winter. Dinguería,” excites influencer.
Contacted by Tech & Co, a seller, who wanted to remain in anonymity, explains between “200 and 500 euros per month”, thanks to this method. The young woman also sells jewels bought between 1 and 5 euros between 15 and 20 euros on the second -hand platform.
Of course, not to arouse suspicion, “sellers are careful not to mention the brand,” Laura smiles, a user of the application. “The other technique is to lie. They ensure that the garment is vintage but it is false.” The year 21 years was just at the beginning of the year.
“I was looking for a leather jacket that was not too expensive. So when I saw an advertisement for a bomber in link, exactly as I wanted, I drove,” he tracks. In the announcement, the seller only specifies that the garment is vintage. “It was perfect. I just bought second hand or in second -hand stores.”
Laura ends the transaction and a few days later, her package reached Relay Point. “When I opened it, I noticed an Aliexpress label … I was disgusted. I talked about the saleswoman, she explained that it was not her problem and that she only had to verify next time,” he saddens.
“I was scammed three weeks ago”
“I was scammed three weeks ago,” Valentine added. “I received a bag, I was too happy. I received it, two weeks have passed since I got it. He is already breaking everywhere. (…) I checked on Google, and it was a Temu bag … not a vintage bag.” Now, I always check it by searching the photo. “
A similar story has arrived in Jeanne, however, accustomed to the platform. This time, the student had put her gaze on a flowery summer dress. “I had seen similar in Tiktok,” acknowledges the arts student. Merifying, Jeanne, however, reviewed the photos of the garment and, above all, the label.
“There was nothing written, so I told myself that I had to be a hunched clothes.” Which confirms the saleswoman by message, simply explaining that “there was no brand. Bad drawing.” When I touched the dress, I felt that the fabric was of poor quality … and that was not lost, “he added. There was a second label on the garment. 5 black written letters in white: Shein.
Contacted, Vintede does not “tolerate this type of practice.” For people, “sales for commercial purposes are not authorized, as specified in our catalog rules,” reminds a company spokesman in Tech & Co. “Therefore, we can be taken to hide or eliminate ads, even suspend or block accounts in case of commercial activity, such as Dropshipping.”
“Nothing helps”
And, if professional sellers can use vintéd in the context of their activity through Vinned Pro, “they can only offer second -hand items. The resale of large -purchased products or due to dropshipping, particularly with low resale value, is strictly prohibited,” concludes the platform
Jeanne, she tried to contact. But “nothing helps,” bothers the young woman.
In general, “Vinned believes that there are not enough elements to demonstrate that it is a falsification,” Laura completes. However, I sent quite clear evidence since the saleswoman assumed that she sold Aliexpress or Shein. However, “Vinned says” to encourage its members to inform any suspicious activity “to” take appropriate measures. “
How to detect these false ads?
To avoid falling into the trap, it is possible to search for inverted images. Specifically, just make a screenshot of the ad and place the photo on Google by clicking on the camera icon on the home page.
The search engine will show all other similar images available and, therefore, the potential ads available in Shein, Temu or Aliexpress.
