“Goodbye, good day”: it is with these laconic words that Alex Hitchens’ audition ended prematurely with the National Assembly Research Commission on Tiktok’s psychological effects on minors. After just 15 minutes, the male influencer, auditioned in Visio, was bothered by a question from the president of the commission before suddenly disconnecting.
In his videos, Alex Hitchens, Isaac Mayembo of his real name, proclaims himself “seduction coach” and became known in 2021, especially with the “flirting of the street.” He has often had misogynist comments, advocates physical violence and considers, for example, “if his wife makes stupidity, he must be punished.”
“One year of 13 years should follow my advice”
During the audience, which is related to the economic model, parasocial relationships sometimes took to the extreme, and sometimes sexist and violent content that can influence the youngest, Alex Hitchens had begun to recognize that “it must prohibit Tiktok because this platform is harmful,” while admitting that he participates in this environmental toxicity.
When asked about the risk that its content attracts and influenced minors, he replied: “I am not a moderator, I cannot order my life. When you with 4,000 people live, necessarily, there are minors.”
“We could judge my problematic content, but it is a suggestive term. It does not correspond to any crime. I can’t find that my words are problematic,” said the influencer. This is where the exchanges between Alex Hitchens and the members of the commission, especially President Arthur Deport (Socialist Party) began to heat up. When asked about his comments made in a video about women who leave alone after 10 pm, the influencer has bothered.
“I asked: ‘In this hard world, what does a woman do after 10 pm?’ And he continued to say that it is preferable to go out with one or two friends or a man.
To which Arthur Deport replied: “Yes, finally: ‘Take his phone, if he refuses, it is a p*te, end of the relationship’ (reference to other words made by Alex Hitchens, note of the editor), it is equally problematic.” The influencer wanted to answer, evoking “another issue”, but the deputy insisted on finishing his question.
Same annoying, Arthur Delaport threatened to cut the camera of the cameraman to finish his question. Enough to take the influential at the end, Alex Hitchens dropped a lâconic “goodbye sir, good day” before disconnecting, letting only see his name on the black screen of the audience room of the National Assembly.
At 4:24 pm, the audience was therefore suspended “time to remember Mr. Hitchens to inform him that he cannot leave a audience without being suggested.” Finally, the hearing did not resume and the commission began that of another influencer, Ad Laurent.
