The French AI is increasing. On the occasion of the London Technology Week, Arthur Mensch, CEO of the Mistral company, had announced to the CNBC that a reasoning model designed by Mistral would soon see the light of day. Mistral has raised the veil today in this master baptized model.
“There is masterful here, our first reasoning model designed to excel in the specific reasoning of an area, transparent and multilingual,” the company announced on a tweet.
The real novelty that the French firm wishes to bring is an AI capable of reasoning in several European languages. This approach is broken with most current models that think in English or Mandarin, because the most widespread AI develops today in the United States or China.

In artificial intelligence, a reasoning model is an alternative to traditional models. These types of AI have a longer response time to generate an in -depth answer to a complex question. Magistral is the first district reasoning model. It is available in two versions: “Mastroso small” (an open source model with 24 billion parameters) and “masterful medium” (for companies).
Magistral shows very good results in different performance tests according to Mistral data. It exceeds its previous model (Mistral 3) in science tests (Diamond GPQA), Mathematics (AIM) and IT programming (Livecodebench).
On the other hand, the graphics presented in the publication in X compare master with the previous version of Deepseek R1. Actually, the most recent version of Deepseek R1 (R1-0528) exceeds the master’s performance in these tests.
