Consumers can now better choose their phone. As of this Friday, June 20, smartphones and new tablets will have to have an energy label. Until then, mandatory for refrigerators, washing machines, dishwasher and televisions, the energy label extends its device to these new devices throughout the European Union.
This sheet will indicate the energy characteristics and product resistance. The objective remains transparency with consumers before any purchase. The latter can, thanks to this label, in advance the useful life of your next smartphone or your future tablet.
Several characteristics indicated
These labels are quite easy to detect with its colorful scale of A a G. In detail, this sheet will specify:
- Annual Electricity Consumption (in KWH)
- The level of repaiability of the device
- The total battery life
- Fall resistance, water and dust
- The energy class represented by a letter between A (for the cheapest devices) and G (for the most gourmet devices)
For more details about the product, the user can consult the QR code present on the label. This refers to the European database where all products labeled in Europe are listed.
However, it should be taken into account that the devices used, folding smartphones and smartphones dedicated to high security communications are not affected by the extension of this device.
