If artificial intelligence has invaded our smartphones, its use on the computer remains limited. But Microsoft is convinced that the PC market, in a mast for several years, could return to the race thanks to the AI. During the last two years, the company has been pressing Copilot and its PC “Copilot+” IA, which have the ability to execute certain language models locally, without being connected to the Internet.
Among the new features announced by Microsoft in a long blog note, Windows research is one of them. From now on, you can use your own words to find a file, software or a particular document. It will also be possible to launch certain actions, simply by asking the “Agent IA”.
An AI to help Windows users
The right click also adds a “click to do” function. This allows to launch contextual actions in a text or image, for example, to modify or reformulate it, even summarize it, if applicable.
With a PDF document, for example, you can also ask a coach to read a text aloud to “improve the fluidity and reading pronunciation.” This coach can comment to better understand a fact. The set will be exportable in Word and also admits the Microsoft collaboration tool, the equipment.
The photos also updates with characteristics to improve an image, such as lighting.
Functions limited to certain chips
The same goes for paint, with a sticker generator of a notice, as well as a tool for the intelligent selection of an object in a photo or image, to isolate an element.
The screen capture tool benefits from the “perfect screen capture function”, in other words, selecting something to capture in a region of the screen, it will change its capture according to what is found there (for example, expanding it slightly). A good point to avoid possible failures.
Finally, the edge browser is entitled to the “highlighted” function and allows Co -Coet to show “how” has to perform a specific task. The IA of the browser will then show you what application should be used, for example, touch an image, create text, etc.
Some of these characteristics can be accessed through an update of the window or in the Microsoft store for applications, but others require a PC “co -pilot+” animated by a Snapdragon chip. The PCs with an Intel and AMD chip will be “soon” served.
This period also tends to bother these two historical partners of Microsoft, who do not understand the will of the US company to favor Qualcomm (designing Snapdragon fleas).
