Jeanpormanove’s death has aroused many reactions. Internet users paid tribute to the streamer found dead at the age of 46 on August 18, while others denounced the inaction of the Kick platform, where it was very present.
Raphaël Graven, its real name, was the objective of many violence on the platform, videos that show it strangled, be driven by blows or even victims of paint jets from other streamers.
His death also reacted to the minister in charge of Clara Chappaz Digital. “The death of Jean Pormanove and the violence he has suffered are an absolute horror. I send all my condolences to his family and relatives,” he wrote on X this Tuesday, August 19.
Platform responsibility
In his message, the delegate minister also indicates the inaction of Kick, a platform that is known to regulate its content. “Jean Pormanove was humiliated and mistreated for months live on the Kick platform (…) I took the arch and made a report on Pharos (platform for the content report published on social networks for several patterns, editor’s note),” said Clara Chappaz.
“This type of failure can lead to the worst and does not take place in France, in Europe or other places,” said the minister. These statements come when the Nice prosecutor’s office opened an investigation to determine the cause of Jeanpormanove’s death, as the Parisian revealed. According to several Internet users, it occurred after the streamer spent “10 days and nights of torture”, with “extreme” physical violence, a “sleep deprivation” or “the ingestion of toxic products.”
