Saborado for Justice in June during the trial of the three former executives judged by moral and sexual harassment, Ubisoft may well rebuild a journey through justice. The French video game editor told Tech & Co that an appointment appeared against Yves Guillemot. The company’s CEO will have to appear before the Bobigny Court (Seine-Saint-Denis) on October 1.
The appointment that will appear was presented by the Union of Solidaire IT and four natural persons, “the same civil games” as during the judgment of Serge Hascoët, former creative director of Ubisoft, Tommy François, former attached manager of the editorial service, and Guillaume Patrux, game director. According to the French giant, the citation is based on the same facts as the courts after an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office. The latter had estimated that there was no need to initiate criminal procedures against Ubisoft or against its leader, for the great regret of civil parties.
The human resources director also cited to appear
The latter, counting in particular the IT Solidarres Union, has never been hidden that they would go further and had already announced that they had sent the appointment to Yves Guillemot, something refuted by Ubisoft. When asked about Tech & Co information, a union representative confirms the sending of the citation last month. “He was absent and his family had refused to take the homework instead,” he said. Drd Marie Derain was also summoned, who worked in the publishing house at the time of the events. Ubisoft as a legal person is also summoned.
Editor’s employees were informed by email this Friday, August 22 of the Prosecutor’s Office against Ubisoft for a union. In a press release dating from the end of May before the opening of the June trial concluded by a suspended suspended prison and fines, solidarity in solidarity had wanted to shed light on “the systemic character of harassment in Ubisoft” for the continuity of the trial, to appear in the CEO Yves Guillemot and the DRH “by the laws of acts of sexual harassment.
The union wanted to make the company respond to “moral and sexual harassment, environmental and sexual harassment, institutional sexual harassment, sexual assault and involuntary injuries.”
This procedure is possible for justice that allows victims to summon an alleged author of Acts before a Criminal Court. Neither Ubisoft nor the lawyer of the civil parties, however, wanted to indicate the reason for the appointment to be received by the two leaders
Runnings in view?
If the unions want to show the link between the supervision and the harmful behavior of the three former employees, management has always denied having been aware or hidden the facts and continues to have anything to blame, justice had already shown it well.
While the unions promise to come from the next surprises, Ubisoft is still faithful to their line of conduct and continues to “continue helping justice whenever necessary as in the last five years.”
“Our priority is to guarantee the absolute respect for the physical and moral integrity of our employees, within the framework of a zero prevention and tolerance policy in matters of sexual or moral harassment, sexist acts, aggression, insult or discrimination of any kind,” said Ubisoft executive vice president.
