The Nobel Prize in Physics 2025 was awarded to French Michel H. Devoret, to the British John Clarke, as well as the American John M. Martinis, announced the Nobel Committee this Tuesday, October 7 from Stockholm, for his work on macroscopic quantum mechanics.
The trio has been rewarded “for the discovery of the effect of quantum macroscopic tunnel and the quantification of energy in an electrical circuit,” said the body.
The French physicist Michel H. Devoret is currently a professor of applied physics at Yale University in the United States.
