In Albania, the prime minister of AI will soon give birth to 83 virtual children, intelligent agents who will help parliamentarians, especially if they forget to “go back to work.”

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that Diella, Albania’s Minister of Public Procurement, was pregnant with 83 children. Its objective will be to help each of the deputies, even when they are absent from parliamentary sessions.

An advertisement that seems like a joke, but is nevertheless very real. After being the first country to appoint a minister generated by artificial intelligence, Albania continues to surprise. Speaking at the Berlin Global Dialogue, an annual conference in the German capital, its prime minister, Edi Rama, announced that she was pregnant.

Called Diella, this AI minister, in charge of public procurement, is expecting 83 children, that is, one for each of the deputies in Parliament. Each child “will help deputies during parliamentary sessions, keep track of everything that happens, inform them and suggest solutions,” said Edi Rama, reports the British newspaper The Independent.

“Children” useful in many ways

In addition to helping the deputies, these children will have “the knowledge of European legislation that their mothers have,” said the Albanian Prime Minister. Launched in January as a virtual assistant, Diella became minister responsible for public procurement in September, and Edi Rama assured that she will eliminate corruption in tenders.

However, he had a difficult start in Parliament, coming under criticism from the opposition. “It is impossible to stop corruption with Diella,” said Sali Berisha, former prime minister and opposition leader, also accused of corruption. He also called Minister IA “unconstitutional,” indicating that he would take the matter to the Constitutional Court.

There is no doubt that Edi Rama’s announcement will not please you. Especially since the current Albanian Prime Minister did not stop there. According to him, Diella’s “children” will be useful even for deputies who have not attended a parliamentary session. “When you go to have a coffee (…) and you forget to go back to work, these children tell you what was said in your absence,” he said.

According to him, they will even be able to notify the deputy they assist if their name has been mentioned by another for “bad reasons”, so that they can prepare their response.
