An app lets you create your own festival poster from your Spotify playlist

The Instafest app generates your own festival poster with the names of the artists you listen to the most.

Were you disappointed by the latest lineup of Solidays, Coachella or Vieilles Charrues? The free Instafest web app allows you to create a custom festival poster from your Spotify account.

To generate a poster, simply go to the Instafest site, connect to the site with your Spotify account. The Instafest app also calculates a “base score”, the lower the score, the more specialized your music festival will be.

Various options are possible, such as customizing the lineup based on last listens in the last four weeks, the last six months, or earlier. You can also select different poster styles. Once the poster is generated, it is also possible to change the name of the festival, show or remove your username and your base score, before making it public and sharing it with your friends.

The creator of the application, Anshay Sabooa, explains to TechCrunch he came up with the idea for the app while thinking about his ideal Coachella lineup. According to him, more than 5 million people have already generated their poster on Instafest.

The creator is currently focused on developing the app. The site already allows you to generate a festival poster using Last.fm’s listening history. He currently works with Apple Music but wants to expand access to the YouTube Music, Deezer and Amazon Music platforms. He does not rule out the idea of creating a social network based on music and festival posters.

The Instafest app is eerily similar to Lineup Supply, which lets you create playlists out of music festival posters. As the end of the year approaches, most listening platforms also offer a compilation of their best works of the year.
