Drivers of Tesla electric cars received an early Christmas present. An update for the vehicles of the American manufacturer, called “Holiday update”, has been available to users for a few hours.
In addition to having reworked the navigation tool and delivered some home automation tools, Tesla now offers its users access to the Steam platform, as well as Apple Music applications, but also Zoom.
Thousands of games thanks to Steam
With the new update, Tesla drivers will now be able to use Steam, the online video game distribution platform. An arrival expected by fans of the brand, since Elon Musk announced it several months ago.
Steam will let you play fifa23, assassin’s Creed Where Grand Theft Auto. Tesla vehicles already offered some games on its interface, such as cup head or the arcade game heaven force recharged. Now with Steam, users will be able to enjoy more than 30,000 games.
However, please note that these games will only be available if the vehicle is stationary. When video games came to Tesla cars, drivers could play the few games already present. However, the brand had backtracked at the end of 2021 after numerous complaints about the dangerousness of this process. American Highway Safety had even opened an investigation on the subject.
Apple Music and Zoom available
Tesla drivers will also be able to attend their work conferences online. The Zoom software will thus be available in the cockpit and the present camera will allow you to be present at the meeting, even live from your car. However, in a presentation video posted a few weeks ago, Zoom seemed to imply that the use of its software in Teslas would also not be available while driving, but only while parked.
Apple Music, Apple’s music streaming platform, is now also compatible with Tesla vehicles. The brand’s cars already allowed the use of Spotify. Amazon Music should also make its appearance in a few months.

In addition to these rather classic options, Tesla has also included some much more amazing new features in its update. The brand has developed a “Dog Mode” that will allow dog owners to use their phone to remotely monitor them if they stay in the car. A message that the air conditioner is on and the dog is fine will also be displayed on the screen. This function will serve to a large extent to avoid the panic of passers-by who would see the dog locked in the cabin.
The “Poop Cushion” function, which had amused netizens when it was released, has also been improved. This device can now be used remotely, through the Tesla mobile app. Until now, it was only possible to fire “farts on demand” or to sound them when the turn signal is activated. Pranks will now be easier and more discreet.
