This is the first price increase for the Strava app in over a decade, which has been slow to communicate its increases. Thus, as of February 2, the monthly offer goes from 7.99 euros per month to 9.99 euros per month.
Strava is an application that allows you to follow your running or cycling routes. France is affected by the increase in subscription. Except that not all countries are experiencing the same increase, which has not ceased to be highlighted by users on the Reddit network. Some have seen prices double, while others have seen prices increase by as much as 67%. Users also pointed out that Strava did not clearly announce the price increases.
Therefore, Strava was forced to publish a note on their blog on January 12 to explain this increase: “While our subscription price has remained practically constant for the last few years, we also take into account local market conditions When costs and plans adjust, we always strive to improve your experience and invest in the value we bring you every day.”
The note also explains that “price changes vary by region and preferred platform.”
Unchanged annual subscription
The annual subscription does not change. According to a Strava support blog, subscribers “will receive notification of their updated price 30 days prior to their subscription renewal date.”
The app has more than 100 million users in total, including the free service. The subscription allows the user to access a multitude of features such as designing routes, creating goals or even activating a training diary.
