“We use the latest advances in generative artificial intelligence,” says Olivier Zetler, co-founder of Yokai on the set of Tech&Co. Yokai is an application that allows you to generate photos of yourself in different photographic universes.
Various universes are offered in a well-stocked catalog: vacation photos, military outfits, Marvel heroes or even Game of Thrones, there is something for everyone. For example, a fan of the Game of Thrones series will be able to insert a photo of himself that he will receive a few hours later, more real than in life.
For it to work, an artificial intelligence must be trained and this requires some specificities. So, to generate the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones, the artificial intelligence saw countless photos of the object.
The same on the portrait side used. It’s ideal for providing a dozen photos of yourself from different angles and with various facial expressions. “The system was designed during three and a half years of research,” says Olivier Zetler. Subsequently, the user receives five different photos. At the moment, the service is paid, with a maximum of one euro per photo.

However, generating such realistic photographs in fictional contexts can raise ethical issues. To do this, Yokai is working on a system in which all images will be integrated into a computer framework that will indicate that it is generated by artificial intelligence.
For added security, a service will be implemented that will allow a user to interrogate Yokai to find out if its artificial intelligence generated the photo. “Yokai will be able to recognize its own pixels,” specifies the co-founder.
The company’s next step is to offer a free service, but also a professional version and target content creators and fashion and beauty brands.
