Offering a fast Internet connection anywhere in the world is Elon Musk’s goal with his satellite Internet network system. Already deployed in many countries around the world, including France, Starlink is starting to reach Africa.
Nigeria is the first country to be able to count on the SpaceX network, as the company announced on its Twitter account.
Other African countries soon equipped
If Nigeria is a pioneer on the continent, other countries will soon join it, according to the map available on the official Starlink website.
Mozambique, Kenya or Angola could be the next African countries to have SpaceX Internet access service, starting in the second quarter of 2023. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Zimbabwe will also be equipped with the Starlink network during 2023 Cameroon, Botswana or Namibia will have to wait until 2024. Only a few countries on the African continent do not have a set arrival date at the moment.
