Twitter prepares for the arrival of payment certification in France

Users of the social network, particularly in France, have seen the Twitter Blue option appear without being able, for the moment, to subscribe to it.

A matter of days or weeks? Twitter is preparing to roll out its monthly Twitter Blue subscription, particularly in France, where a “Twitter Blue” tab has appeared in the left column of the web version of the social network.

Clicking on it still doesn’t make it possible to sign up – the service is only available in a handful of countries. But it does give an overview of what this advertised subscription will offer at $8 a month for the web version and $11 for App Store and Play Store subscriptions.

Twitter first specifies that it will be necessary to have a “verified phone number” to obtain the famous blue certification badge and then be approved by the social network. With this subscription, users will have more exposure: their tweets will appear “at the top of replies, mentions and search results”.

No release date yet

Twitter promises a way to “fight misinformation and spam,” even if this subscription system actually amounts to sponsored overexposure of sometimes controversial accounts.

Similarly, Twitter Blue members will receive “half ads” in their news feed. Finally, they will be able to post longer videos in Full HD.

Max Pledge: Followers will be able to edit a Tweet up to five times within 30 minutes of posting it. Officially, there is no release date for Twitter Blue in France, but the arrival of this tab seems to herald a forthcoming availability.
