Harry Potter fans were looking forward to it. Thus they gave a triumphant welcome to the video game. The Hogwarts Legacy: The Hogwarts Legacy. Since its official launch a week ago, sales have hit new highs.
The game, available on PS5, Xbox and PC, is at the top of the best-selling video games on Amazon or even on the Fnac website. The same on the Steam platform.
“The first week of Hogwarts Legacy was 56% higher in Europe thanelden ring. This is the biggest game release outside of fifa AND obligations from red dead redemption 2 (launched in 2018)”, explains Christopher Dring from the specialized site Gamesindustry.biz on Twitter.
Suffice it to say that the game derived from the universe of wizards rubs shoulders with the biggest video game hits of recent years. The game shines first for its qualities, obtaining an average score of 90 out of 100 on the Metacritic site. Tech&Co had also appreciated this immersion in the Harry Potter universe.
And these sales also underscore that the boycott ultimately did not take place. Before its release, players were calling not to buy the game due to comments deemed transphobic by the books’ author JK Rowling.
