A very realistic video, made entirely with artificial intelligence (AI), which could be confusing. Through this extract, Carrefour wants to demonstrate that artificial intelligence is an opportunity to better address its customers “and personalize the experience”, explains Elodie Perthuisot, Executive Director E-Commerce, Data and Digital Transformation of the Carrefour group, a guest at the dish. by Tech&Co.
The avatar asked ChatGPT: what can you offer me to eat better and cheaper at Carrefour.fr? The avatar cites the three pieces of advice given by the chatbot: buy seasonal fruits and vegetables, opt for own brands and promote products on sale.
With a rather robotic appearance and voice, the avatar still seems very human. This video was also generated to demonstrate that this type of innovation enters into everyday use, especially consumption.
“Simplify the life of the consumer”
A very specific everyday technology, this is what Carrefour intends to show. “The data was able to improve the customer experience,” explains the CEO. For example, the Carrefour application is capable of showing products and offers that can attract consumers, since they learn from their purchases. “Only with the consent of the client”, wants to specify Elodie Perthuisot. “The purpose of data and technology is to simplify the life of the consumer,” she continues.
Artificial intelligence already makes it possible to avoid irrecoverable losses and make sales forecasts. In the bakery department, the AI is able to know how many croissants to produce on a given day in a given store, so as not to have any waste.
In the near future, AI will make it possible to optimize transport or avoid queues at the checkout. The idea will be to get closer to customers, make AI interfaces even more human, and further personalize responses.
