While Elon Musk was suspected of modifying Twitter’s algorithm to highlight his own tweets, he said on February 21 that the algorithm would be open-sourced next week.
It all started with a first tweet from the head of Twitter, who was criticizing his opponents for criticizing him. He boasted that he had “acquired the world’s largest nonprofit company for $44 billion.” Derek Smart, a Twitter user obviously well aware of tech news, asked him to reveal Twitter’s algorithm so that he would be “really impressed.”

Therefore, Elon Musk responded to him. In turn, Derek Smith replied ironically. “Oh my God! All is forgiven,” he replied.
It remains to be seen what form this announcement will take and whether Elon Musk will keep his word. Since his arrival at the head of Twitter, the billionaire has changed many characteristics in the use of the social network. Users now have access to two different feeds: the “For You” feed that customizes the tweets that appear and works under recommendations, and the “Followed” feed that shows the latest tweets from followed accounts.
The appearance of the Twitter Blue paid subscription has also brought its share of changes between the possibility of modifying tweets or publishing videos of almost 60 minutes.
