Hackers will stop at nothing to win your case. As cybersecurity specialist Damien Bancal has warned, the Russian hacker group ALPHV, also known as BlackCat, has published x-rays of breast cancer patients on the Dark Net. They were stolen from the American x-ray specialist Valley Health Network.
Nearly two million documents were stolen by cybercriminals who then demanded a ransom. Since the company did not budge, BlackCat began distributing some of the stolen content, in this case these x-rays.

This method of pressure also results in a decrease in the effectiveness of ransomware, these programs that encrypt all data on an infected machine before demand a ransom to the victim to retrieve them.
In recent years, businesses have started to become more secure, including on-demand insurance, making these attacks less profitable for hackers.
Hospitals and administrations, particularly in France, are now privileged places due to their lack of protection. The government has also recently announced an aid plan to help protect them from attacks.
