“He’s right”: Bruno Le Maire defends Booba from influencers

Bruno Le Maire, Booba, same fight. At the beginning of January, the Minister of Economy had launched a public consultation to “better support and supervise influencers”. “It is simply necessary that influencers, who are creative, who represent work, French creativity, are subject to the same rules that you are subject to on radio, on television, in traditional media,” he said, reaffirming . this Monday.

“When you have alcohol product placements or other product placements, legal notices should appear on influencer sites,” added Bruno Le Maire. “That is not the case today. We just want to subject them to the same rules that apply to traditional media,” he insisted.

“The Net Is Not The Wild West”

The Minister of Economy also wants to “give status to these influencers so that they are better protected” and “strengthen controls so that the network is not the Wild West”. Bruno le Maire insisted that it is not a “fight against influencers”. , but against “a few influencers who misbehave” and “bring shame” to thousands of others.

Controversies, sometimes followed by fines, regularly erupt over the practices of influencers who do not always disclose their relationships with certain brands. The influencer Nabilla Benattia-Vergara, for example, paid a fine of 20,000 euros for promoting stock services on Snapchat in 2018 without mentioning that she was paid for it.

For several months, Booba, accustomed to more or less serious attacks against other rappers and sometimes controversial statements, has a new fight. He denounces the business of influencers on social media, between product placement and ads, and regularly accuses them of “ripping off honest people.” He made the influential agent Magali Berdah his main target.

The director of Shauna Events, for her part, denounces the cyberbullying she has suffered on social networks for several months, since the rapper accuses her of internet scams.
