What if it was now possible to chat online with “celebrities”? Kylian Mbappé, Albert Einstein… Several sites allow you to chat with famous people thanks to artificial intelligence. This is the case of the site Character.Ai, whose chatbot works on the ChatGPT model.
On the site it is possible to exchange with a multitude of celebrities, whether they are political personalities, historical figures or fictional characters (video games, anime, series, movies). The software also offers to ask questions of more common people, such as a psychologist or a sports coach.
How do these chatbots work? “The product is based on neural language models. A supercomputer reads large amounts of text and learns to imagine the words that might follow in a given situation,” she explains on her site Character.Ai.
However, don’t trust everything famous people say. “The characters make things up!” warns the chatbot. “So they can be entertaining and useful in many ways, but they can also recommend a song that doesn’t exist or provide links to false evidence to support their claims.”
When Booba talks to Booba
So don’t be surprised if Vladimir Putin says, for example, that Emmanuel Macron is “a very nice young man”, of whom he is “a great admirer”. The start-up behind Character.Ai has just reached a valuation of one billion dollars (950 million euros), according to various specialized sites.
Another site, Yiaho.com, allows you to exchange with French personalities, namely Kylian Mbappé, Emmanuel Macron, Napoleon or Booba. The latter also had fun exchanging directly with his chatbot, which led to a very electric exchange, which the rapper shared on Twitter.
In the background of the discussion with Kylian Mbappé, Yiaho.com indicates that “although the phrases emitted do not come directly from Mbappé himself, they are produced by the AI using data from texts and recorded conversations of the athlete.” .
Asked about the elimination of PSG against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Kylian Mbappé said, for example, “disappointed”, but “not [se] don’t complain.” “I’m happy to be able to continue playing in Ligue 1 and in the league, and to be able to improve my game,” replies the Parisian striker.
