Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is still heavily involved. His boss Mark Zuckerberg has just announced an additional 10,000 layoffs in a Facebook post, just months after a plan to cut 11,000 jobs.
“Over the next two months, entity leaders will announce turnaround plans focused on flattening our organizations, canceling lower-priority projects, and lowering our hire rates,” Mark Zuckerberg wrote.
“It will be difficult and we cannot escape,” he said. “We will support people the same way we have before and treat everyone with the gratitude they deserve.”
This is the second wave of massive layoffs started in a few months by Meta. In November, the group announced the cuts of 11,000 jobs to deal with the general slowdown in the technology sector.
