How to use GPT-4, the new version of ChatGPT now?

With its new version of ChatGPT, OpenAI wants to go even further in conversational artificial intelligence. However, you will have to wait, or pay, to access this 4.0 chatbot from its inception.

ChatGPT’s successor is here, or almost. Introduced yesterday by Greg Brockman, the co-founder of OpenAi, GPT-4 will arrive gradually, although some have already been able to use it unknowingly through the Bing search engine.

Still, this formalization marks the actual introduction of GPT-4 to the Internet, with the ultimate goal of revolutionizing the way we use AI on a daily basis. But at the moment, this new version of ChatGPT is not available for the general public, only for ChatGPT Plus subscribers or developers.

$24 per month

Since last February, OpenAI has offered a paid version of its chatbot. Billed at $24 per month (approximately 22.35 euros), this offer allows subscribers to have faster responses, answers at all times and, above all, priority access to new products. Proof remains, then, with this exclusive access with GPT-4.

However, premium subscribers will have a usage limit, which will depend on the number of people using GPT-4 realtime. This usage limit will be adjusted according to the demand and performance of the chatbot.

The company specifies that depending on the assistance observed in the coming days, another type of specific GPT-4 subscription could be introduced in order to use it more intensively.

Developers also have priority

OpenAI has also set up a waiting list for developers to offer them the GPT-4 API to build various applications and services. The company wants to make this API available for creating a new product, integrating it into an existing product, exploring its capabilities, or conducting academic research.

Note that developers, however, will only have access to requests with text and not images, one of the great new features of this version but still in alpha. They will also be limited to 200 requests per minute.

And for those who do not want to pay and who are not developers, we will have to wait a little longer.
