The formula still doesn’t seem to be paying off on Twitter, but Meta is surely hoping to do better. Meta and Mark Zuckerberg announced a few weeks ago the launch of a paid subscription to authenticate your account on Facebook and Instagram.
In the same way as Twitter, this subscription available from 11.99 euros offers, in addition to the blue check mark, several advantages. In fact, verified users will have more prominence on the platforms and will have direct access to customer service (practical in case of account loss due to identity theft).
Three countries concerned at the moment
To benefit from this paid subscription, you still need to sign up for a waiting list. If the launch a few weeks ago was accompanied by a provision for Australian and New Zealand users, now it is American Internet users who will be able to benefit from these advantages.
Please note that in order to subscribe to this “Meta Verified”, the user must be over 18 years of age, send a photocopy of their identity document to Meta and have two-factor authentication activated on their Facebook account. At the moment, no release date in France has been revealed.
