In an attempt to keep you on Facebook, the platform has implemented a feature that allows you to link your Instagram account to your Facebook profile, automatically sharing your content on both platforms at the same time. All this with a presentation that tends to mislead users, who sometimes do not realize these double publications. If you prefer to compartmentalize your activity on these two social networks, you can easily remove this option. That is how.
Disable post sharing on iOS and Android
- Go to your profile and select the icon that forms three lines at the top right of the screen
- Click “Settings”
- Go to the “Account” tab
- Click “Share with other apps”
- Choose “Facebook”
- Uncheck “Your Instagram Story,” “Your Instagram Posts,” and “Your Instagram Reels.”
Unlink your accounts from an Internet browser
- Click on the icon that forms three lines at the bottom of the page
- Click “Settings”
- Click on “Meta Area. Accounts” at the bottom of the page
- Go to the “Share with multiple profiles” tab.
- Select your account and uncheck “Your Instagram Story” and “Your Instagram Posts”
