Twitter readability is still a bit tricky. After having to sort through the actual certified people and blue badges awarded to Twitter Blue subscribers, it will now be necessary to think twice before distinguishing between original posts and replies.
As the American outlet The Verge indicates, the response tweets are no longer clearly linked to the initial messages. For the site, this creates “a jumbled series of sentences taken out of context.” Single point of identification, a mention in reduced and gray type specifying “in response to” followed by the account in question.
Ensure a minimum of context
If these details remain subtle, the change is much more visible when a post is embedded within a website.
As in the previous example, the response now displays on its own. In the past, such an integration automatically added the initial message. This technique had the merit of guaranteeing a minimum of context. Especially since the answers are for the most part particularly succinct.
Naturally, the display of the series of tweets has been modified since it is an author responding to his own publications. Based on our observations, a gray watermark links the posts together. But such display is not exclusive to posts by the same author as replies to replies also show this device.
If this new interface isn’t going to make users too uneasy, it will surely take time to adjust to properly identify and differentiate the posts, their replies, and the logic that encompasses it all.
