This applies to texts and images, videos and notifications, based on the screenshots. The media will also not be saved directly to the phone and therefore will not automatically appear in the gallery. In practice, locked discussions will also be separated from others in the app.
At this time, there is no announced implementation date for this option, but it should appear in a future update.
There are a few alternative methods to hide your chats on WhatsApp, but the main thing is to summarily hide them in the app. For example, it is possible to place them in the “Files” folder so that they are no longer immediately visible.
It is also possible to block the application as a whole. On iPhone, it is possible, for example, to force Touch ID (fingerprint recognition) or Face ID (facial recognition) to open it. Just go to Settings, then Privacy and Lock screen. Similar settings are also available on Android devices.
