In the race for artificial intelligence, Facebook has finally chosen the sprint. Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth announced to the media Nikkei Asia that the company intends to commercialize its generative artificial intelligence by December.
Meta’s Reality Labs division reported a loss of nearly $13 billion in 2022. Andrew Bosworth said Nikkei Asia that Facebook would most likely launch AI-enabled business apps this year, helping to rescue the company’s ad business.
AI in the metaverse
Specifically, businesses can use Meta’s AI to create ads by generating multiple images to appeal to different audiences instead of relying on a single ad campaign. The technology will help clients reach their audience in a more precise and targeted way and reduce costs.
Meta could also use AI in the metaverse, an area where Facebook hasn’t been as successful as hoped. “In the future, you may be able to describe the world you want to create and have AI generate that world for you,” said Andrew Bosworth.
